Academic Planning

All UC students can study abroad and have the credit from their program transfer back to UC and even apply to their major, minor or other general education requirements.  Students can study on any type of experience abroad, as long as their program is pre-approved by their academic advisor and they bring back a transcript with passing grades from an accredited institution abroad.

Students that have already decided on a program must work closely with both their Academic Advisor and their Education Abroad Advisor.  Student must turn in an Academic Advisor Approval Form to UC International Programs before they can sign up for one of two study abroad courses listed below, unless they are going on a UC faculty led program.

Study Abroad Courses:
These two courses are used to register for your Education Abroad experience. Choose the one reflecting the type of program you are registering for. You must enroll to receive academic credit.

15 MLTI 300 Study Abroad – this course is for students who are studying abroad on external programs, paying tuition and fees to outside universities or program providers.

15 MLTI 500 International Exchange – this course is for students who are studying abroad on UC exchange programs at particular universities abroad.
