Academic Excellence & Support Services (AESS)

OUR MISSION:
AESS (Academic Excellence & Support Services) provides comprehensive, student-centered and university-wide  programs, resources and services designed to promote transformative academic excellence through individual and group support.

OUR GOAL:
Is to help you become a successful, independent learner.  This is why we provide free tutoring, supplemental instruction, peer mentoring, and learning resources for undergraduate students.  Some of our other goals include:
*Assist students who are in danger of failing a course
*Assist students who desire to improve their overall grade point average
*Increase retention and graduation rates of all students; and
*Assist students in developing study habits and positive attitudes to ensure academic success in their college careers and beyond.

Students utilize the Learning Assistance Center for a variety of reasons: to keep up with source assignments; get additional assistance when anticipating or experiencing academic difficulties; or to review for quizzes and exams.  Often students seek help at the last minute and are often too late to get the help needed to pass a course.  We encourage you to visit early and learn about the available resources for your academic success.
