UC License Plates Show Pride, Fund ScholarshipsEvery C-Paw license plate you see on Ohio's roads is generating scholarships for UC students, in addition to displaying Bearcat Pride. Learn how to join the ranks of C-Paw road warriors. If you live in Ohio — especially in the southwest part of the state — you’ve surely seen them on the road … Maybe you’ve even thought it would be cool to have them. They’re the University of Cincinnati license plates, featuring the distinctive C-Paw logo and the university’s name. Like wearing Bearcat apparel, UC plates are a visible way to tell the world UC is important to you — whether it’s because you love UC sports, or your children (or grandchildren) are enrolled here, or just good old alumni pride. But there’s an equally important reason why the C-Paw is worth having on your vehicle: UC license plates directly generate scholarship money that helps students get a UC education — and that creates a stronger university as well as a more vibrant alumni community. The UC Alumni Association stewards the funds that flow from the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles ($25 of the $35 annual special plate fee) — and every penny of those funds goes toward scholarships for legacy students (lineal descendents of UC alumni). The math is simple: More UC license plates out there equals more students receiving scholarship assistance. That puts a rewarding new twist on the “I support UC” license plate message. UC license plates can be purchased and put on your vehicle at any time — not just when your current plates or registration expire. For more information or to order your plates, visit the UC Alumni Association web site.
