UC Patent Winners Honored During Bearcat Halftime Ceremony


UC faculty members who earned patents during calendar year 2007 were recognized in front of a big crowd at halftime of the men's basketball game against UConn on Jan. 23.

UC ingot   University of Cincinnati (UC) faculty inventors who received patents in calendar year 2007 were honored during a halftime ceremony at the UC men’s basketball game with UCoon on Jan. 23 at Fifth Third Arena.

Sandra Degen, PhD, vice president for research, presented each inventor in attendance with a framed copy of the first page of their patent.

The university recorded 13 new patents in fiscal year 2007—up from 11 patents in 2006.

Also receiving patents in 2007 for work conducted at UC were Kersten Small, PhD, and Stephen Liggett, MD, who is now at the University of Maryland.
