UC Clermont’s Student Video Project Airs on WCET

UC Clermont College multimedia graphic design students created a video called Something in the Air, about pollution and asthma for a class project. The students were thrilled to find out that their piece was picked up by WCET, the Cincinnati Public Broadcast Service station and aired on June 5. 
 
Kathryn Brooks of Batavia and Nicole Andreyko of Cincinnati are both majoring in multimedia graphics. Their video project was the culmination of seven weeks of interviews, shooting footage, scripting and editing a piece on the topic of air quality and how it effects people with asthma.
 
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Kathy and Nicole. Something like this does not happen often. The fact that one of the country's premier public TV stations accepted their video speaks volumes about the high quality of the Interactive Multimedia Technology students and instructors and about the program itself," said Andy Curran, associate professor of computer information systems.
 
”The concepts and skills that were taught by Professor Curran in the Interactive Multimedia Program at Clermont College totally prepared us to make this video. From concept to production, making this video was a wonderful learning experience, and is something we both have always wanted to do,” said Brooks. 
 
Curran said that neither student had television production skills until they began the course in January.
