ABOUT THE GREAT WALL INTERNATIONAL MUSIC ACADEMY

The Great Wall International Music Academy brings together the current and future generation of outstanding string soloists and teachers for one month of musical training, performance and cultural exchange in Beijing. Acclaimed by the Cincinnati Enquirer as “the first festival of its kind to bring together the best of Western and Chinese musicians,” these world renowned string masters and young gifted string players converge on the main academy site, Grand Epoch City, for private lessons, master classes, chamber music coaching, faculty and student concerts and solo opportunities with a professional orchestra. The faculty of the Great Wall Academy includes the most important Chinese pedagogues from the best Chinese Conservatories, such as the Beijing Central Conservatory and the Shanghai Conservatory, as well as from major European and American schools. Inspired by the work at the Great Wall Academy, many of China’s most prodigious young artists have come to enroll at CCM.
