UC’s Fraternity & Sorority Life reports that since 1840, the University of Cincinnati has been home to more than 50 national fraternities and sororities, including 36 currently on campus.

A new addition last fall, Gamma Phi Beta, became the second sorority under the National Panhellenic Conference to establish at UC in 76 years.

UC’s first Greek society organized in 1840, when Beta Theta Phi established at what was then Cincinnati College.

The video above reflects the spirit of Greek life through the years at UC.

Find out more about its history from Fraternity & Sorority Life, or view a special archive exhibit produced by the Archives & Rare Books Library.
