UCit’s Custom Solutions Group provides Web based, Mobile and Client-Server application development services for colleges, departments, and organizations at the University of Cincinnati. UCit produces custom-designed applications and provides ongoing support for and maintenance of those applications.
Due to the popularity and technical advances of the Internet, UCit is developing dynamic and robust Web applications and we now develop applications designed to run on mobile browsers.
Web sites that UC departments request UCit to develop are more complicated web applications with interactive pages that link to back-end databases. A Web page may include text, graphics, pictures, and online forms for users to complete and submit. In addition, some Web pages, such as Registration’s, are interactive, where data is submitted and information is returned.
Simple web sites that do not require a backend database can be created and maintained by the department requesting the site. Our Content Management System (CMS) was implemented to handle all simpler sites that do not require complicated logic or connection to a database. User training is provided which will allow even the most inexperienced users to quickly create and maintain their own websites.
Many Web sites allow for secure credit card transactions. Transmitted personal or confidential information, such as a social security or credit card number, are secured or encrypted, so that the information cannot be read by others over the Internet.
