Obtaining a PC - Installation

The computer you ordered will arrive with the hardware fully assembled and the operating system installed. Installation of the desktop software and cable connections are the user's responsibilities.

Contact the UCit Help Desk at 556-4357 to contact departmental desktop support or a PC Warehouse technician to install your new computer or computers. A typical installation consists of the following:

• Configuration of the PC for the existing peripherals (e.g., printer)
• Installation of cable connections to the computer's CPU for the monitor and mouse
• Installation of UC-specific software
• Installation of application software
• Establishment of network connectivity to an existing network jack
• Moving data files from the old computer to the new computer.
