Software for UC Faculty and Staff
The University of Cincinnati has negotiated favorable software licensing agreements for many of today's applications. Please review the list below and make the appropriate selections.

Adobe
Adobe products pertain to the design and publication of web, digital video, and streaming media applications. For the latest list of products and current prices contact University Bookstores, 513-556-1700. Request licensing and pricing under the CLP contract.
Apple Macintosh
If you are interested in upgrading your Macintosh OS, please visit the contact the University Bookstores at 513-556-1700.
Autodesk
Autodesk provides a series of software products that are used to develop, enhance and support Architectural and Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications. To order software fill out the Autodesk form and either fax 513-556-1006 or inter-office ML 0658 the completed form to the UCit Helpdesk. For more information about the UC site license, please send an e-mail message to the site license coordinator.
BI/Query
BI/Query is an enterprise Data Warehouse query and reporting application. BI/Query requires a software purchase and regular maintenance fees. For more information please send an e-mail message to the coordinator.
BI/Web
BI/Web is a thin-client solution that provides Data Warehouse query and reporting capabilities over the web. For more information, please send an e-mail message to the coordinator.
Cisco
The Cisco VPN Internet Client allows users who are not on the UC Network, such as those who use Fuse Net or Road Runner, to access UC restricted IP web sites. Learn more or download the Cisco VPN client.
ESRI
ESRI applications apply to Geographical Information Systems and may only be licensed on UC-owned or UC-leased workstations or networks, and in accordance with the Academic Site License Agreement between the University of Cincinnati and the ESRI. Exchange/Outlook
The University has negotiated an Enterprise Licensing Agreement for the typical Microsoft desktop products (including Outlook). You may purchase these products (on CD) for a nominal fee from University Bookstores, or you may borrow the CDs from the University Libraries at no charge.
Gartner Group
The Gartner Group has research and advisory documents on IT services. They can be accessed free of charge at http://gartner.uc.edu.
Geotrust
Geotrust is a leading secure sockets layer (SSL) Certificate Authority enabling secure e-commerce and communications for web sites, intranets, and extranets. Help Desk Applix
UCit uses the Applix tracking system for every call that comes to the Help Desk. If you need to access calls that have been opened under your name (to edit and close calls), you can log into the Applix at http://webdesk.uc.edu with host, uchelp-t.uc.edu. If you would like to install the client on your desktop, please contact the Help Desk at 556-HELP (4357). You must deinstall the old client before installing the new client on your desktop.
Hummingbird
The Hummingbird 3270 Emulator allows a Windows user to access the mainframe computer. This software is free of charge to UC employees. Download 3270 Emulator for Windows.
Macromedia
Macromedia (now part of Adobe) provides design tools for dynamic web publishing solutions. Dreamweaver and Fireworks are for high-impact web design and site management. Sitespring is for web-team collaboration and project management. Flash and Shockwave are for next-generation animation and interactivity. For Web application development and database publishing, MacroMedia offers Dreamweaver UltraDev and ColdFusion UltraDev Studio.

McAfee
The McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software products are free of charge to UC employees for both office and home use. These products and virus update files are available for download here.
Microsoft
The university has negotiated a Campus Agreement for the typical Microsoft desktop products. You may purchase these products (on CD) for a nominal fee from the University Bookstores.

Microsoft updates can be downloaded and installed directly from Microsoft's site at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
Novell
You can obtain the Novell Netware Client software and Service Packs free of charge.
If you require additional Novell products that are not listed above, please send e-mail to helpdesk@uc.edu and indicate the products that interest you. Please remember to include your name and phone number.
Resource 25
The UC Calendar of Events is generated by software called Resource25 (R25), which is used for scheduling facilities as well as for publicizing event information to the general public.
The official UC Calendar of Events provides complete information about UC events to the campus community and the general public. Information from the Calendar of Events is used for all department, college and unit online calendars.
Statistical Software
Statistical Software consists of the following products:

- SPSS
- Stata
These products are designed to estimate and test Structural Equation Models, and provide simple calculator operations to large-scale programming and interactive document preparation for scientific research. They also provide solutions for data analysis, data management, report generation, and enterprise-wide information delivery while allowing a wide selection of graphs for every stage of your project. UC Flex
UC Flex is the name of the new integrated Financials and Human Resources business system implemented by the University. UC Flex incorporates software from SAP, the world's largest vendor of integrated business systems.
Below is the client link to download and install the SAP GUI client. Only authorized users should download the client. If you need help installing the client, please call the UCit Help Desk at 513-556-HELP (4357). Please note that you must be signed on as a system administrator to install this software.

WinVNC
The WinVNC VNC server will allow you to view your Windows desktop from any VNC viewer. Currently, Windows only supports a single graphical user being logged in at any one time. WinVNC makes the existing desktop of the PC available remotely, rather than creating a separate desktop as happens with the Unix server. VNC does not make an NT machine into a multi-user server as, for example, Citrix-based software does. A single NT machine can, therefore, be accessed by multiple users, but if they all connect at the same time they will all see the same desktop! Download WinVNC version 3.3.3.
WinZip 8.0
WinZip brings the convenience of Windows to the use of zip - and other compression format - files. The optional wizard interface makes zipping and unzipping easier than ever. WinZip features built-in support for CAB files and for popular Internet file formats such as TAR, gzip, UUencode, BinHex, and MIME. ARJ, LZH, and ARC files are supported via external programs.
