AAPW - Who We Are

The original group of women who proposed and formed this organization responded to a need to improve communication among themselves and for additional opportunities in professional development and advancement. Our goals remain the same. AAPW provides a means to network across our many campuses and to be a part of a collective voice on issues important to women.

AAPW is here to help you succeed, to help you expand your knowledge of campus, and to provide opportunities for you to help yourself.

AAPW - What We Do

AAPW is also concerned about the needs of women students and wants to assist them in achieving their educational goals. So we also support - with our dollars and our commitment - two programs that help women students.

• The 25-Cent Fund benefits women students and is administered by the UC Women's Center. The fund provides emergency cash for women students in need. A maximum of $30 may be granted to a student as a loan to be repaid at the amount received plus 25 cents, which gives the fund its name.
• Child Care: AAPW continues its support of UC Child Care through membership contributions. UC Child Care serves UC faculty, staff, students and the surrounding community with special attention to flexible schedules for students needing child care services and day care tuition subsidy programs for students.

You can make a contribution to either (or both) of these projects when you pay your membership dues. Donations are also accepted at every AAPW meeting. Contributions are accepted in any amount.
