Lindsey B

Lindsey is a fourth-year Organizational Leadership student in the College of Arts and Sciences with a minor in Communication.  This is her second year working as an Academic Coach at the LAC.  On campus, Lindsey is a ROAR Tour Guide, a University Honors Ambassador, and a student leader and mentor for H2O Campus Ministry.  Since moving to Cincinnati, Lindsey has loved engaging with the community of the Queen City by getting involved or interning with a number of nonprofit organizations off campus, such as Dress for Success Cincinnati and Magnified Giving.  Lindsey also loves to spend time playing wallyball, baking, and getting to know people over a good cup of coffee.

Trixie is a fourth-year student, majoring in Early Childhood Education. She is student teaching second grade this year, and hopes to be an elementary school teacher after graduation. This is her first year working as an Academic Coach at the Learning Assistance Center. She looks forward to gaining experience helping college students achieve their goals. Trixie is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. When she’s not working, she likes to spend time with friends, visit art museums, travel, and play croquet.

Rachel is a fourth year Secondary Education major with a minor in English. This is her first year as an Academic Coach. Aside from working at the LAC Rachel is involved with Bearcat Buddies, Judicial Affairs, and Greek Life. She likes to stay active in her free time and spend time with friends and family.

Lianna D

Lianna D.
Major: 
Communication Sciences and Disorders
Year: Fourth Year

Lianna is a fourth-year, Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) major, studying to become an Audiologist. She is also working towards a Deaf Studies Certificate. Lianna is a University Honors student. This is her first year working as an Academic Coach at the LAC. Outside of the LAC, Lianna is also a member and Senior Mentor in UC's National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA). She loves volunteering in the medical field as it relates to her major. In her free time, Lianna enjoys reading, watching movies, babysitting, and spending time with friends and family.

Sarah E

Sarah E.

Psychology & Philosophy (Cognitive Studies)
Year: Third Year

Sarah is a third year student double majoring in Psychology and Philosophy with a concentration in Cognitive Studies.  She hopes to go to graduate school to study Clinical Psychology in the future.  Aside from working at the LAC, Sarah enjoys playing the clarinet in UC Symphony Orchestra, engaging in on campus research, and volunteering with several local organizations.  She is also a Cincinnatus Scholar and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Psychology Club, and Psi Chi International Honor Society.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and watching Netflix.

Kyleigh E

Kyleigh is a second-year student majoring in Early Childhood Education and pursuing the Deaf Studies certificate. This is her first year working as an Academic Coach in the LAC. She is a Cincinnatus Scholar and member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She is involved around campus through Bearcat Buddies and CHAARG and currently serves as the Vice President of Programming of College Mentors for Kids. In her free time, Kyleigh enjoys working out, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Leah is a third-year Marketing student in the Lindner College of Business. This is her first year as an academic coach for the Learning Assistance Center. On campus she is a member of sorority Kappa Alpha Theta, where she serves on various committees and enjoys volunteering and helping others. She also loves making people smile, spending time with her friends and family, watching Netflix, boating, and taking spontaneous trips to new places.

Katerina G

Katerina G.

Hailing from Cleveland, Katerina is a fourth year senior triple majoring in communication, marketing, and information systems, graduating in December 2017. She is the CEO of MBD Innovations, a marketing consulting firm that creates brands for new companies in North America. An avid vocalist and reader, Katerina also sings for professional softball games. Her long term goal is to maintain healthcare brands.

Rachel is a third year student here at UC majoring in Health Promotion and Education (HPE) and minoring in Psychology. This is her first year working with the LAC and she is so excited to help her peers set/reach their goals! Rachel is a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, ETA SIGMA GAMMA, and works another job outside of being an academic coach. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her puppy, watching scary movies, and exploring Cincinnati!

Jordan is a fourth-year student majoring in Middle Childhood Education with a focus in Mathematics and Natural Sciences and minoring in Sociology with hopes to become an education advocate. This is her third year as an academic coach. She is a member of the University Honors Program, a Cincinnatus Scholar, and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. In addition to being an academic coach, Jordan is a former peer leader. She is highly involved around campus with the CECH ambassadors, Middle Childhood Education Society and Bearcat Buddies. In her spare time, Jordan likes to spend time with her friends and family, pet every dog she sees, watch Netflix, and go bargain shopping.

Cassie is a fourth-year student studying Middle Childhood Mathematics and Natural Science Education. This is her first year as an academic coach at the LAC. She is a Cincinnatus Scholar and has served as the secretary for the Middle Childhood Education Society. Cassie comes from a military family and spent a large portion of her childhood travelling the world. As a commuter student, Cassie has developed strong time management skills and her previous jobs have given her experience working with children and organizing events for a variety of occasions. In her spare time, Cassie enjoys travelling, spending time with her friends, and binge watching Netflix.

Jessica K

Jess is a third year Neuropsychology major and Spanish minor. She hopes to attend graduate school to continue her studies and eventually wants to work in a lab with Alzheimer’s. This is her first year working as an Academic Coach at the LAC. Besides working at the LAC, Jess works in a lab at Children’s Hospital, is a Cincinnatus Scholar, is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and is the treasurer of the UC Scuba Club. In her free time she enjoys running, swimming, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Exercise & Movement Science Concentration
Year: Third Year

Holly is a third-year Honors Student studying Exercise & Movement Science Concentration with a psychology minor, hoping to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Throughout college, she has been involved as a Student Orientation Leader, a Bearcat Buddie, and a Daycare Volunteer. Currently, she is the Presentation Coordinator of HealthCats along with being a member of the Student Alumni Council. She loves feeding her ambition of traveling by volunteering to new countries with the nonprofit organization, Serve Beyond Cincinnati. In her spare time, she loves spending time discovering new restaurants in Cincinnati and simply spending time with her family.

Neuroscience and Biology

Jordan is a third-year student majoring in biology and neuroscience with a minor in medical sciences. She is the current treasurer for both UC Model United Nations and UC Chemcats. She is a member of the University Honors Program, a Cincinnatus Scholar, and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. Outside of campus life, she volunteers at Christ Hospital and studies creatine deficiency disorders in a lab at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing karate and singing along to her favorite musicals.

Mary P.

Year: Second

Mary is a second year, majoring in Classics and minoring in Classical Civilization. Originally from the Indianapolis area, Mary intends to become an educator and education researcher. She is a member of the University Honors Program and Alpha Lambda Delta, and is a Cincinnatus and Semple Scholar. In addition to being an Academic Coach, Mary serves as Secretary for UC Classics Club and volunteers at Hughes STEM High School. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and creating various art, music, and baking projects.

: Operations Management and International Business
Year: Fifth year

Emily is a fifth-year Cincinnatus and University Honors Program student studying Operations Management and International Business while also pursuing a minor in Business Analytics. She is a member of the Kolodzik Business Scholars Program in the Lindner College of Business and has previously served as Vice President and President of KBSA. She is also a member of Lindner Ambassadors, Delta Sigma Pi, and an alumni of Kappa Alpha Theta. Outside of school and extracurricular activities, Emily enjoys traveling and volunteering with the Stray Animal Adoption Program as well as working out, catching up on Netflix dramas, and visiting family in her hometown on the Westside of Cincinnati.

Cody is a second year student majoring in Sport Administration and pursuing a minor in Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. He is also a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. This is Cody’s first year working in the LAC. Outside of the LAC, Cody is a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, a member of the club baseball team, and on the executive board for the Society of Sport Leaders. He also interns with Hillel as a cook and eRecruitfit, an analytics company. In his free time, Cody enjoys playing sports, being with friends, hiking, working out, cooking, and volunteering at organizations in or around Cincinnati.

Sarah S

Sarah S.

International Affairs and Spanish
Year: Third

Sarah is a third-year student studying Spanish and International Affairs and she hopes to attend law school after her undergraduate.  During her sophomore year, she spent a semester abroad in Heredia, Costa Rica where she lived with a host family, volunteered in ESL classes, played soccer, and traveled. Since returning to the United States, she started volunteering at the legal department of Su Casa Hispanic Center. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity. She enjoys playing soccer, reading, hiking, and painting. Sarah looks forward to helping students cultivate academic disciplines in order to obtain their academic goals.

Caroline Shapiro is a fourth year studying International Business and Marketing at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. She is a member of the University Honors Program, a Cincinnatus Scholar, and a Kolodzik Business Scholar. Caroline’s campus involvement includes being a sister of Kappa Delta Sorority as well as a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Fraternity, working in the Honors Department at the Lindner College of Business, and being a Lindner Ambassador. She is dedicated to helping other students at the University of Cincinnati grow and achieve their full potential. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and eating sushi!

This is Sachika’s first year as an academic coach. She is a Cincinnatus Scholar and University Honors student from Mason, Ohio who hopes to double minor in Spanish and Medical Sciences. With plans to pursue a career in public health and medicine, Sachika is interning at Crossroad Health Center to learn more about access to healthcare issues in the Over the Rhine area. This year, she is especially excited to be a GlobeMed member and programming director of TedxUCincinnati’s Discovering Leadership Program. In her free time, Sachika loves painting and travelling.

Nicole is a third year Health Science major on the Pre-Occupational Therapy track with a minor in psychology. She hopes to go to graduate school to become an Occupational Therapist. This is her first year as an Academic Coach at the LAC. Other than the LAC, Nicole is involved in ROAR, Fit for Life and Health Sciences Tribunal. In her free time, she likes to workout at the rec, watching Netflix, spending time with family and friends, and crafting.

Shelby S.

Shelby is a fourth-year Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) major, studying to become a Speech-Language Pathologist. She is also pursuing a minor in Spanish and just finished a six-week study abroad in Spain. Shelby is a University Honors Student, a Cincinnatus Scholar, and a member of Mortar Board. This is Shelby’s first year working as an Academic Coach in the LAC. When she’s not at the LAC Shelby works at a local retirement community as a Life Enrichment Assistant. She is also the Vice President of the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association. In her free time, you can find Shelby volunteering at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital or playing with dogs!

Year: Graduate

Dea has an undergraduate degree in Dietetics from the Coordinated Program at the University of Cincinnati and held office in the Student Dietetic Association for 2 years. Dea is a first year student in the nutrition master’s program and is the President of the Nutrition Graduate student Association. Dea has been a coach since the spring of 2015 and holds a position as a graduate assistant.

Outside of the LAC, Jennifer spends her time working summer camps and volunteering. In her free time, she likes to bake, garden, walk her dog, and travel.

Jenny is a second-year Neurobiology major with a minor in biology.  She wants to double major in Business Administration.  This is her first year as an academic coach at the LAC.  She plans to rush a sorority and get more involved on campus this semester.  She is looking forward to becoming a coach because the program helped her organize her life and get her grades back on track when she attended coaching.  She wants to help students the way this program helped her!  In her free time, Jenny likes to do anything outside.  She specifically likes biking, kayaking, and taking walks.

Zach Y

Zach is a second-year student, double major in Sports administration and Marketing. He hopes to go to graduate school for business and then become a business agent for a professional sports team in the future. This is his first year working as an Academic Coach for the LAC. Aside from working for the LAC, Zach is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, apart of 3 clubs which are Society of Sports leaders, Bearchats, and Rally cats. Aside from that Zach is also a part of a radio show called sports blitz on every Sunday during the school year. He is excited to work with students and help them learn how to navigate through their challenges and strive to achieve success here at UC. Outside of school, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, playing sports, cheering the bearcats on, volunteering with local organizations, and adventuring.
