Academic Coach Alexandra Kramer

Alexandra Kramer

Major: Graphic Communication Design
Year: Second Year

Alexandra is a second-year student majoring in Graphic Communication Design. This is her first year as an academic coach. She is a Cincinnatus Scholar and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. Alexandra has her own photography business and coaches tennis. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, playing tennis, and taking pictures (of course!).

Academic Coach Cami Jackson

Cami Jackson

Major: Psychology

Fourth Year

Cami is a fourth-year Psychology student in the University Honors Program. This is her third year working at the LAC as an Academic Coach.  When she’s not in the office, she works as a server at Outback. She has learned how to balance school, working two jobs, and a social life through her experience at UC, and she is committed to helping other students succeed. In her free time, she loves taking walks with her dog, reading a good book, and finding new recipes.

Academic Coach Alexis Wilsey

Alexis Wilsey

Major:  Neuroscience
Year: Second year

Alexis is a second-year Cincinnatus student studying Neuroscience on the pre-medical track. This is her first year working as an academic coach at the LAC. Outside of the LAC, she also works as a job coach at the UC Launch program and enjoys helping students plan and work toward their goals. She is also a presentation coordinator for What’s in a Doctor’s Bag? and is a member of AED. In her free time, Alexis can be found baking, reading mystery novels, and spending time with friends and family.

Academic Coach Alexandra Bowles

Alexandra Bowles

Major: Biology
Year: Fourth Year

Alexandra is a fourth-year in biological sciences on the pre-med track. She is a Cincinnatus and Choose Ohio First scholar. Besides working at the LAC, she is an undergraduate researcher at Shriners Hospital. Alexandra is really looking forward to pursuing a career in medicine. Balancing work, school, and social life can be difficult sometimes, but she really enjoys being involved in campus and the community and would really like to help students learn to balance theirs! In her free time, Alexandra enjoys reading, working out, and playing with her animals!

Academic Coach Ashley Kemp

Ashley Kemp

Major: Criminal Justice
Year: Fourth Year

Ashley is a fourth year criminal justice major who also has a background in education. She is involved in greek life as well as volunteers weekly. This is her second semester as a coach and finds that time management and test anxiety are her specialty. She enjoys helping others in several other areas across a variety of majors. When Ashley isn't coaching or volunteering, she enjoys working out and spending time with friends. She has found a great balance of school, work, and social life while being at UC.

Academic Coach Meghan Simpson

Meghan Simpson

Major: Organizational Leadership
Year: Second Year

Meghan is a second-year Organizational Leadership student who is also pursuing a Public Relations Certificate and a Business Administrations Minor. This is Meghan's first year as an Academic Coach. She is highly involved around campus through her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, and through the Alpha Lambda Delta honorary society. In her free time, Meghan enjoys spending time with her friends and family, binge-watching Netflix, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee.

Academic Coach Zack Stump

Zack Stump

Major: Clarinet Performance
Year: Fourth year

Zack is a fourth-year clarinet performance major at the UC College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). He is the president of CCM's chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He has worked on mission trips in Central America for several summers and also tutors elementary-aged students. Outside of his studies, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys reading, video games, and spending time with friends and family.

Academic Coach McKenzie Wessel

McKenzie Wessel

Major: Organizational Leadership – HR Track
Year: Second Year

McKenzie is a second-year Organizational Leadership major through the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences. She is in a 4+1 program, so at the end of her education, she will have a BA in Organizational Leadership and a Masters in Human Resources. Aside from that, McKenzie is a part of the ROAR Tour Guides, a member of the Chi Omega sorority, and a Cincinnatus Scholar. She takes in the groups she is involved with on campus. McKenzie is excited to help other students reach their full potential at UC.

Academic Coach Emma Sherman

Emma Sherman

Major: Accounting
Year: Fifth Year

Emma is a fifth-year student in the Lindner College of Business, and this is her first year as an Academic Coach. She is majoring in Accounting as well as minoring in Information Systems and seeking a certificate in Human Resources. Emma was formerly a PACE Leader through the College of Business and has had several accounting co-op rotations with UC Health and EY. She has also been on the Dean's List her entire college career. After Emma graduates in April, she plans to begin studying for the CPA exam. In her free time, Emma enjoys hanging out with her friends, shopping, and helping animals in need.

Academic Coach Meredith Meyer

Meredith Meyer

: Communication Sciences and Disorders
Year: Second Year

Meredith is a second-year CSD major, studying to become a speech and language pathologist. This is her first year of working in the LAC as an Academic Coach. She is also a part of the executive boards for the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association and Alpha Lamba Delta Scholarship Association. In hoping to gain experience in a hospital environment, she volunteers at Mercy West Hospital and Children's Hospital on a weekly basis. Outside of pursing her career and helping others, she enjoys attending trips planned by the University of Cincinnati Mountaineering Club (UCMC), and being adventurous.

Academic Coach Myia Rucker

Myia Rucker

: Psychology
Year: Third Year

Myia is a third-year Psychology major. She is also pursuing a minor in Early Childhood Education and Development with the goal of one day becoming an art therapist for children. This is her first year as an Academic Coach. Apart from working in the Learning Assistance Center, this fall she will start as an undergraduate research assistant in the Partnership for the Improvement and Treatment of Child Health (PITCH) lab. Myia is really looking forward to helping fellow Bearcats achieve their goals and succeed here at UC. In her free time, Myia enjoys reading, painting, watching movies with friends, and playing basketball down at the Campus Recreation Center.

Academic Coach Rasha AlSheyyab

Rasha AlSheyyab

: Communication Sciences and Disorders
Year: Third Year

Rasha is a third-year majoring in Communications Sciences and Disorders. She will continue her education to obtain a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is also currently completing a double minor in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. Although this is her first year as an LAC Academic Coach, Rasha has extensive experience in assisting with academic achievement as she has worked with students before as a Peer Mentor at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College in the Student Life Center and as a counselor at Summer Emerging Camp through Cincinnati Public Schools. In her spare time, Rasha volunteers, cooks, plays tennis, and loves playing with her kitten, Ginger.

Academic Coach Sophone Bazile

Sophonie Bazile

: Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies
Year: Graduate Student

Sophonie is pursuing a Master of Arts in the Women’s, Gender & Sexuality program. She is new to Cincinnati and this is her first year as an Academic Coach. She graduated from Bethune-Cookman University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/Affairs. Born in Haiti and raised in Orlando, Florida, Sophonie's biggest worry is how she will make it through a snowy winter. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, writing, and watching crime-drama series.

Academic Coach Victoria Gray

Victoria is a fourth-year Liberal Arts student with three minors in History, Spanish, and Psychology. This is her first year working at the LAC as an Academic Coach. When she's not in the office, she is involved in the ADVANCE organization as the External Vice President, McMicken Student Ambassadors, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She is committed to uplifting her community and ensuring the success of other students. In her free time, she loves eating, dancing, laughing, and spending time with friends and family.

Academic Coach Tristen Thompson

Tristen Thompson

Major
: Biological Sciences
Year: Second Year

Tristen is a second-year in biological sciences on a pre-medical track. Aside from being a full-time student, Tristen volunteers at both the University Hospital and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens. She is also involved in many other organizations, including Paws for a Cause and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society. Being an organized and involved student while reaching her academic goals is something Tristen takes pride in, and she is really looking forward to helping other students do the same. In her free time, Tristen enjoys working out, hanging out with her friends, and reading.
