GRE Preparation Course

We've revamped our course and increased the instructor contact time to help you prepare for the GRE! This is a great way to start studying for the GRE.  Plus, UC Student Services is now offering many great course formats for those preparing for the test. Individual courses are now available.

These courses are offered to the entire UC community, so this offer is available to anyone wishing to prepare for the GRE, even if you're not a UC student.

All courses will be held on the UC Uptown Campus. Upon receiving your registration, we will send you a confirmation with the location of the course.  The next course will begin September 24.

Math Prep Overview for Introductory Teaching Exam

In partnership with CECH, the LAC offers a prep course to help students preparing for tests needed to enter cohort.  Each session is scheduled to last only 50 minutes. Within each session we will review concepts, complete guided practice, and assign additional “at-home” practice. Each session will begin with questions and review of the practice problems assigned in the previous session.

Session Learning Goals

Each session will focus on the recommended ETS study areas as shown in the following document:  http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/PRAXIS/pdf/5730.pdf.  Students will review the following areas:  numbers and operations, algebra, word problems, geometry and measurement, and statistics.  Students will then practice these concepts to gain a better understanding of the problems and their personal strengths and weaknesses.  Students will also learn test taking strategies dependent upon the area of focus.
