Meet the Peer Tutors
Learning Assistance Center Peer Tutors 2014-2015
Taylor is a fourth-year Psychology major and Criminal Justice minor. She is the Internal Vice President for UC Alliance, and a member of Psi Chi. She has been a tutor for a year, and tutors Psychology and Statistics courses. In her free time she enjoys reading books and watching movies/shows, and is currently obsessed with Dexter and Hannibal.
Major: Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics
Year: 4th year Grad Student
Brandon is a fourth year graduate student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. He has been at the LAC for almost a year tutoring Applied Calculus, Calculus and Physics. He is a member of Sigma Pi Sigma, the Physics Honor Society. In his spare time he likes playing tennis, board games, and reading.
Major: Industrial Management
Emily is a fourth-year student majoring in Industrial Management and minoring in Business Analytics. This is her third semester as a peer tutor. She is involved in UC Hang gliding and Paragliding Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Golden Key International Honour Society, and LEAP. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and kayaking.

Ellen is a Peer Tutor in German, French, and Italian. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice from CCM in 2014 where she studied opera. She is now a first-year Masters student in German Studies and teaches German 1001. When she's not singing or studying, Ellen enjoys watching movies and hanging out with family and friends.
Major: Chemical Engineering
Ian Neumann is a 3rd year student majoring in Chemical Engineering. This is his second year as a peer tutor. Ian is a Cincinnatus Scholar and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. In his free time, Ian enjoys playing soccer and cooking. His first Co-op experience was with Sirrus Chemistry Inc., and he plans on working for Cargill Inc. in the spring. Ian tutors math, chemistry, and engineering courses.
Connor von Korff
Major: Actuarial Science
Connor is a third year majoring in Actuarial Science and minoring in Accounting. This is his first year working as a tutor for the Learning Assistance Center. Connor also works at the MASS Center.

This is the first time Anna is working as a peer tutor and she is looking forward to helping students that are having difficulties in Financial Accounting, Business Calculus, Intro to Micro and Macro classes. Anna is a proud member of UC ROTARACT. In her free time she loves to having fun with friends, spending time with the loved ones, shopping, eating, and finding new interesting things in life.
Olivia is a second year student majoring in communication, minoring in marketing, and pursuing a certificate in public relations. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi and also takes part in Cincinnati Dance Marathon each year. In her free time she enjoys working out, participating in community service and eating bananas.
Major: Biology / Neuroscience Pre-Med
Joey Rone is a second year Biology/ Neuroscience Pre-Med student. He is in the Neurosociety and UC Ski and Snowboarding club. He enjoys snowboarding during the winter and going to the lake during the summer.

Jenna Kremer is a second year student majoring in nursing. This is her first year as a peer tutor. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and a Cincinnatus Scholar. On the weekends she works as a cashier at Meijer’s. In her free time, she loves working out with her roommates, reading leisure books, and spending time with her family.
Gail Yacyshyn is a 3rd year student majoring in Biology (concentrating in animal studies), and minoring in Anthropology. She has been a peer tutor for nearly a year in many different courses, focusing on the sciences. She has also just started tutoring in the MASS center. Gail is part of the Pre-vet society on campus and is planning on being a veterinarian in the future.
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Luke is a fourth-year student majoring in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-medicine track. This is his first year working as a tutor at the LAC. He has completed three research co-ops in the Department of Human Genetics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. He tutors mainly in Biology, General Chemistry, and Introduction to Biochemistry.
Major: Secondary Math Education
Kelsey is a third year majoring in secondary math education. This is her first semester as a tutor in the LAC, but she has tutored math on her own for about 3 years. She is also a manager at a snow cone business in Cincinnati, called Snowie. In her spare time she enjoys practicing pilates and cooking/baking!

Year: 2nd year student
Ben tutors Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Models, and Mythology. Ben also works in an iron working shop and is a military policeman in the Marine Corps active reserves. In his free time he enjoys fishing and camping.

Year: Second Year
Erin is a second-year student in UC's College-Conservatory of Music studying Electronic Media. She is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and this is her first year as a peer tutor. She is a Cincinnatus Scholar, a ROAR tour guide, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and a member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity. Erin also likes sewing, community service, and musicals.
Major: Operations Management
Erik is a 3rd year Operations Management student here at the University of Cincinnati. This is his first year tutoring. He is also a part of Bearcat Buddies, and enjoys working with Habitat for Humanity. In his free time he enjoys playing Intramural Softball, as well as summer league softball.

Christina is a fourth–year Sport Administration student. This is her first year working in the LAC as a peer tutor. She is a member of Phi Sigma Pi and the Society of Sport Leaders. When she is not in the office and works as a student worker in the Athletic Office and CECH. In her free time, she enjoys play sports, listening to music, and shopping.
Major: Arabic Culture and Language, Psychology
Megan is currently in her third year at University of Cincinnati majoring in Arabic culture and language along with psychology. Currently, she is a member of an Arabic Language Meet-Up. She also is a teaching assistant, and the president of UC's Arabic Club. In the future, she hopes to work in an environment where she can travel and experience the diverse cultures and people of the world.
Major: Biological Sciences/Pre-medicine
Rachel is a third-year biology major (minoring in Spanish and Medical Sciences) and a second-year tutor for several biology and Spanish courses. She is a member of the Honors Program, Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED), NC4K, UC Global Public Health Brigades, and is a Cincinnatus Scholar. When she's not in the office, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, play with her dog, and watch movies.

Heather is originally from Michigan. She is currently applying and interviewing for medical school with hopes of becoming a pediatrician and working in underserved communities in Central or South America after medical school. She has a passion for kids, Spanish, science and running.

Lauren is from Lebanon, Ohio, but is currently living on campus as a Resident Advisor. She is a double major in Spanish and criminal justice with a minor in IT. Her current career goal is to become an investigator or a researcher. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2016."

Emily is a second year Early Childhood Education Major. This is her first year working for the LAC and she tutors most math courses up to and including Applied Calc 1. She also works at the MASS center as a MATH 1044 (Applied Calc 1) study table leader.
Major: Mathematics and Economics
Geran is a senior student major in Mathematics and Economics. This is her second year as a tutor, but this is her first year working at the LAC. She tutors most math and statistics subjects. She transferred from China and this is her second year in University of Cincinnati. She likes students and teachers in UC. In her spare time, she likes to watch movies and read books.
Major: Accounting & Finance
Ruby is a senior double majoring in Accounting and Finance at the LCB. She has been a peer tutor since September 2013. She is a member of the Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity and the Vietnamese Student Association (UC VSA). She tutors mostly Accounting and Finance major classes, Micro and Macro Economics, Statistics classes, Business Analytics I & II, and Math classes. In her free time, she enjoys studying the Japanese language and culture, traveling, and cooking different countries’ cuisines.

Rukmini is second Masters student in the department of Mechanical Engineering specializing in Radiation of Nanomaterials. She also volunteers for a non-profit organization - Association for India's Development (AID), a student chapter at UC and in her free time she enjoys reading crime fiction. She is also a trained dancer in the Indian classical art form of Kuchipudi.
Major: Clarinet Performance
Rosemary Bullock is currently a junior studying clarinet performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is a Cincinnatus Scholar and is an active member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a professional women's music fraternity. This is her first year as a peer tutor in Music Theory and Music History at the Learning Assistance Center. Besides playing clarinet and going to concerts, Rosemary enjoys cooking, reading, yoga, and running.
Austin Menezes is a 2nd year Biology Major from San Diego, California. This is his second semester as a Peer Tutor and his first semester in the MASS center. He is also involved in The Bearcat Bands, GlobeMed, and was a Student Orientation Leader (SOL) for the summer of 2014.

Mickaela Sudhoff is a 2nd year graduate student at the College of Medicine. This is her fourth year as a physics and math tutor at the LAC. In her free time, Mickaela enjoys volunteering at the Save the Animals Foundation (STAF) in Cincinnati.
Lakmal Ekanayake is a second year Biology student with a goal of becoming a physician scientist. In his free time he enjoys conducting research at Cincinnati Children's and reading books.
