Pitch In  October 2008

Pitch In is a campus-wide recycling competition between the colleges of
DAAP, CECH, CCM, Business, Law, Engineering, and Arts & Sciences.  The competition
starts Oct 1. 1st thru Oct. 31st.  Recycling bins are placed in the departments and hallways of
each college.  To accurately gauge who is winning in the competition, a total number of
faculty and staff will be divided by the weight of recycling that is produced from each
college.  Recycling will be weighed twice per week and updates on who is in the lead
will be provided below.  The winning college will receive a large plaque and "Pitch In" t-shirts.

1st Law 3,285 = 44.40 lbs/person
2nd DAAP 6,220 = 42.03 lbs/person
3rd Eng 2,525 = 11.12 lbs/person
4th CCM 1,860 = 12.74 lbs/person
5th Bus. 683 = 5.70 lbs/person
6th CECH 1,000 = 4.30 lbs/person
7th A&S 1,310 = 2.34 lbs/person

Congratulations to all college participants.  We recycled 16,883 lbs in one month's time.

Remember: Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle.

*All containers will stay at their locations for the rest of the fiscal year.  In addition,
they will stay mixed stream.  Please continue to use them.  Workers will continue to
stay on schedule to collect twice per week.
