The Russell C. Myers Alumni Center experienced a round of renovations during the summer and fall of 2013. This phase of upgrades has transformed Alumni Hall, the large meeting space on the northern side of the building, as well as the bar area, adjacent restrooms and coatroom.
The project includes architectural, functional and aesthetic improvements that will make the facility more versatile and welcoming for the 100+ annual events and thousands of visitors at the Myers Alumni Center.
The series of facility improvements began three years ago with the installation of a handicap-access ramp and various lighting and beautification enhancements. Future project phases will renovate the lobby/atrium areas and the Hunter Room meeting space inside, plus the exterior courtyard.
“Many thousands of alumni travel back to campus every year, and thousands of current students are future alumni in the early stages of their lifelong UC relationship,” said Laurence Jones, III, president of the UC Alumni Association’s Board of Governors. “For all of them, the Myers Alumni Center is their home on campus, and they deserve the best facility we can give them.”
