Join University of Cincinnati history professor Dr. Christopher Phillips as we first journey to Washington D.C. where we will visit key places that pertain to Abraham Lincoln including the Lincoln Cottage, Ford’s Theatre, Peterson House, Arlington National Cemetery and more. We will visit battlefields where less than fifty miles from Washington D.C. major conflicts took place. Included will be Antietam National Battlefield in nearby Maryland, and Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. We will also visit the Gettysburg Museum and Cyclorama, Manassas, VA where two battles of “BULL RUN” were fought and Fredericksburg, VA where the Union Army suffered huge casualties. The tour concludes with stops at the various locations on the “BOOTH TRAIL” starting with Garrett’s Farm where Booth was killed, The Surratt House and Tavern and the Samuel Mudd House.
