Army ROTC Bearcat Battalion Clubs: Pershing Rifles

The National Society of Pershing Rifles

University of Cincinnati, Co E-1

ABOVE THE REST!

The purpose of the National Society of Pershing Rifles is to develop, to the highest degree possible, outstanding traits of leadership, military science, military bearing, and discipline, within the framework of a military-oriented, honorary fraternity.

Pershing Rifles (PR) is an organization committed to excellence. Members can take advantage of an atmosphere for making new friends, facing rewarding challenges, and taking part in efforts to benefit the community on and off campus.

Our company participates in many important events year round. Not only do we get to fire the cannon at Bearcat football games, but we also provide color guards for many UC sporting events, parades, conventions and other activities both on and off campus. Members also get the chance to assemble and become a part of rifle drill teams and competitions (NATCON).

Pershing Rifles is open to any U.C. student. Membership in an ROTC program is not required. Prospective members must participate on a probationary term within a "pledge" class. Pledges are encouraged and may still become involved in PR events, but will not become active members until pledge class graduation. At that time, all new members are then inducted into the group. If interested in joining or have any questions, please call 556-3660 for more information.
