Advanced-Level courses are what junior and senior
level (MSIII and MSIV) cadets take through the course
of their junior and senior years in the ROTC. These
are 3 credit courses offered out of the A&S
college and focus around leadership and technical
development.
Junior level courses focus on technical and tactical
aspects the future leader uses. These include
issuing a platoon and squad operations order,
battle drills, movement techniques, and adequately
preparing cadets for success at NALC the summer
before their MSIV year. Cadets are also assigned
leadership positions through out the quarter,
which can be anywhere from squad leader to company
executive officer, that help develop their leadership
skills.
Senior Level courses focus on the administrative
and ethical side of being a newly appointed platoon
leader. Classes help cadets understand the history
of the American Military Justice System and how
it functions today. Further topics range from
army UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) to
steps you can take to improve NCO/Officer relationships.
