Classes offered for all university students through:
One Credit Hour per Course
McMicken College of Arts and Sciences:
MS 111 - Basic Rappelling
MS 112 - Marksmanship & Leadership
MS 113 - Military Field Crafts
These courses teach you basic soldiering skills. Rappelling from between Calhoun and Siddall and eventually off of Corry Garage will teach you to trust yourself as well as your equipment. Marksmanship and Leadership will teach you the fundamentals and maintenance of the Army’s Individual Weapon – the M16A2, as well as leadership skills, the Army way. Military Field Crafts will teach you the basis for outdoor survival skills – map reading, orienteering, land navigation. Also, first aid and CPR will be taught. Overall, Students are faced with personal challenges that must be overcome through development of personal leadership and decision making skills.

Basic skills for improving cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility.

MS 211 - Leadership Foundations
MS 212 - Historical Perspectives of Leadership
MS 213 - Leadership in Today’s Society
A series of courses designed to develop the ability to make quick, sound decisions, based on a thorough analysis of a problem situation. Students use lessons learned from historical examples plus personal, past experience and apply them to new, challenging situations. The goal of these courses is to give all students a strong basis for decision making, management and leadership skills.
