OVERVIEW:
The Leader's Training Course (LTC), held at Fort Knox, KY, is a 4&1/2-week course taken in the summer to allow someone without any previous military experience to gain entrance into the last 2 years of the Army ROTC program. The student does not incur any expenses during the training. They are housed, fed, paid, and transported to and from Fort Knox.

The LTC counts for 9 free-elective credits and covers

REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizen
Between 17 and 30 years
old
Full-time college student
with at least 2 years of college remaining
Cumulative GPA of at least
2.0 on a 4.0 scale
Pass a medical exam
No civil convictions
No more than 3 dependents
Pass the Army Physical
Fitness Test
Meet Height/Weight Requirements
OBLIGATIONS:
You must sign a conditional contract with the intent to join the ROTC program before attending this course.
If one qualifies for and accepts an ROTC scholarship, then one incurs a 4-Year active duty commitment. If one decides to enroll in ROTC upon graduation (non-scholarship), one could fulfill a 3-year active duty commitment, or 6-year Reserve or National Guard commitment.
Additionally, one incurs the following commitments while attending their last 2 years of college:
All cadets are required to take one ROTC course per quarter (see below) and a lab. The time commitment is approximately 5-7 hours weekly.

In addition to the ROTC courses listed above all cadets must take one class in each of the following areas to fulfill Professional Military Education requirements: military history, basic computer skills, oral communication, and written communication
All cadets are required to attend Physical Training (PT) on Monday, Wednesday
and Friday morning from 7 - 8 AM.
All Cadets take part in one Field Training Exercise (FTX) every quarter. This usually involves a Friday through Sunday at a nearby military base.
