University of Cincinnati Army Reserve Officers
Training Corps sent two teams to Fort Knox,
Kentucky to participate in Seventh Brigade’s
Ranger Challenge Competition. The Ranger
Challenge competition consists of nine separate
events and spans over two days. This year’s
competition was help October 15th and 16th.
The University of Cincinnati fielded an all
female team for the first time since Army ROTC
began at the University of Cincinnati in 1917.
Both teams performed well and represented the
university with distinction in the competition.
The competition ended on Saturday night with
an awards ceremony that was held on Sunday
morning congratulating all forty seven teams
from Seventh Brigade that competed.
The nine events are: Engagement Skills Trainer
where Cadets tested their marksmanship skills
with an M-16 rifle, Iron Warrior- an event
that required Cadets to move heavy objects
over a long distance, orienteering, weapon
assembly and disassembly, hand grenade assault
course, one-rope bridge, obstacle course, and
water operations using an inflatable raft.
