University Honors The Honorary Degree and The Award For Excellence
The Honorary Degree
The awarding of Honorary Degrees should be regarded as a method by which the University expresses its ideals and recognizes outstanding achievements. It provides appropriate recognition by the University for attainment of extraordinary distinction, and serves to exemplify the highest purposes and ideals of the University in its recipients. The Honorary Degree, therefore, represents the highest award given by the University.
The Award for Excellence
The University of Cincinnati wishes to recognize individuals who, through the excellence of their work, have increased the stature of the institution. The Award for Excellence is a means by which the University expresses its appreciation to individuals from both within and without who have substantially added to its mission. It provides the appropriate recognition for individuals whose work has improved the well-being of the University.
