Blackboard Upgrade

The University of Cincinnati is committed to new approaches to eLearning. Partnership and community engagement are keys to creating an eLearning ecosystem that is innovative, collaborative and student-centered. One of the first initiatives in achieving this goal is the phased upgrade to Blackboard 9.1 Service Pack 13. This portal is designed to provide the information you need during the implementation.

April 7: McGraw Hill Connect Down Time for Enhancements

We have received the following communication from McGraw Hill Connect:

As part of our commitment to providing the best possible user experience, we're releasing some exciting enhancements to Connect.

Starting April 12th, Connect Insight will be accessible from your desktop browser in addition to your tablet device! Connect Insight is the first and only analytics tool of its kind designed to put real-time, mobile analytics in your hands to help students succeed.

In order to roll-out these updates, Connect will be temporarily unavailable on Saturday, April 12 from 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM Eastern time.  We know that downtime can be disruptive, so we have scheduled the maintenance window during a time of historically low usage to minimize the impact on our users.

Thanks for your patience as we work to enhance your Connect experience. We truly appreciate the opportunity to contribute to student success, both today and tomorrow.

Yours in better learning,

The Connect Team

March 12: Collaborate Conversion to MP3/MP4

Users are currently experiencing issues converting Collaborate sessions to MP3 or MP4 video files. The vendor is aware of this issue and plans are in place to fix it in an update to the software scheduled for early April. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you and your students. This announcement will be updated as new information becomes available.

Missing Scrollbars in Grade Center

Apple Safari and Google Chrome users in Mac OS X may experience missing scrollbars in Grade Center. Click here for settings that will resolve the issue.

January 14: Content Collection Affected by Java Update

The latest release of Java disabled the ability to drag-and-drop multiple items from the desktop into content collection. Blackboard is planning to release a fix for the issue in late January. UC Blackboard System Administrators will then apply the fix to UC's Bb Learn system. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

January 6: Early Launch Update

Course Redirect from blackboard.uc.edu

If you haven’t done so already, for non-nursing courses, we recommend that faculty follow these directions to place a re-direct link in SP6 (https://blackboard.uc.edu) to point students to the course in https://bblearn.uc.edu.

Again, thank you for your partnership during the upgrade.

January 6: Early Launch

Early Launch instructors and students have access to the new system at https://bblearn.uc.edu.
