The BPG-L is an electronic discussion list sponsored by the British
Politics Group. It is open to all issues of concern to the members of this
group and other non-members interested in British politics.

1. To subscribe, send the following email to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UC.EDU with the following in the body of the message:

    subscribe BPG-L First MI Last

The "First MI Last" may be in any format they wish including titles (DR,
MR, MRS...etc). This is what will appear in the FROM: line when LISTSERV
distributes the messages to all subscribers of the list, so that everyone
will know who posted the message.

2. To withdraw or unsubscribe from the list, send the following message to
<listserv@listserv.uc.edu>: ignore the subject and on the first line type
"signoff BPG-L <your name>". Be sure to use your "subscribed" name,
including titles, etc.

3. To send a message to those on the list, please send an email to the following address: <BPG-L@LISTSERV.UC.EDU>

4. The BPG-L Archive is on the web at the following URL:

    http://listserv.uc.edu/archives/bpg-l.html

    This threads the discussion according to topics. Using RE: "...."
(subject being discussed) permits the threading to take place.

5. Additional services. Each subscriber may change the setting for their
own individual account.
NOTE: The command used is SET, and the format is as follows:

SET list_name option.

        A. To turn off mail from a list, but remain subscribed:

            set BPG-L nomail

This command is useful, for instance, if you go on vacation or sabbatical,
and don't want mail to accumulate in their account while you are away.
 

      B. To turn mail from the list back on:

            set  BPG-L mail

        C. Digest mode (all messages during the day compiled into one delivery)
is available for the list. A subscriber may opt for Digest mode by sending
the following command to

listserv@listserv.uc.edu:

            SET bpg-l digest

6. The BPG Web Site is at the following URL:

        http://www.uc.edu/bpg

    This contains information about the British Politics Group, its APSA
panels, its Newsletter, officers, subscription information, and links. As
with all Web sites, it is constantly under construction. Be sure to BOOKMARK the web site.
