All Campus Recreation Members have access to both the Campus Recreation Center on the Uptown Main Campus and the Fitness Center at CARE/Crawley on the Medical Campus. Additional options include supplemental memberships for spouses/domestic partners or legal dependents.

The Fitness Center (FC) at CARE/Crawley on Eden Avenue at the Medical Campus offers 12,000 square feet of fitness and wellness space. The FC offers membership options for everyone including UC students and employees, university affiliates (e.g., Children’s Hospital) and community members.

Cincinnati's Campus Recreation Center is a state-of-the-art fitness and recreation facility. With over 200,000 square feet of recreation space, including a gymnasium space of over 38,000 square feet, the CRC can host a variety of events ranging from intimate lectures to basketball tournaments. Climbing Wall

This is a great adventure for children 5 and up to adults of all ages! Trained staff members secure each individual in a harness before they attempt to climb the 40’ or 28’ foot wall configurations. Do you have some partygoers a little nervous with heights? No problem, the bouldering wall offers the opportunity to climb laterally as well as vertically in a ten foot high area. Helmets are recommended for all climbers (required for anyone under 17 years old) and available upon request at no extra charge. Rules & Regulations

Gymnasium

While full-court basketball games may be a norm, we’re ready for anything with 6 courts lined for basketball, volleyball, and badminton. From sports fanatics to family reunions, we’re ready to put the FUN in your next function!  Groups may choose to bring in outside inflatables or other items into the gymnasium, but must contact the Assistant Director for Facility Operations before finalizing outside arrangements. Additional staffing fees may be required for larger events.

Multi-Purpose Rooms

Need a practice space for your next dance performance? We have multi-purpose rooms with hardwood floors and full-length mirrors in both the Campus Recreation Center and the Fitness Center at CARE/Crawley. Rental of multi-purpose rooms does not include the use of fitness equipment, sound systems, or Campus Recreation instructors.

Leisure Pool

150,000 gallons of fun! Our leisure pool has it all. Our 84 degree pool provides a family friendly environment. With a zero depth entry and 3'8" greatest depth this aquatic area is perfect for children (and adults) of all ages to enjoy the water. This space also features a water wall, bubble couch, vortex, and current channel. You’ll have access to inner tubes, and Pool rentals as take place while the space is open to our members. Lap Pool

Our competition Lap Pool boasts 23- 25 yard lanes in short course configuration and 8-50 meter lanes in long course. Diving boards are available to diving teams under the direct supervision of a diving coach.

Racquet Courts

Try your hand at a game of squash, handball, or even wallyball in one of our 7 racquet courts. Wallyball equipment is included with any rental upon request. Racquetball racquets and racquetballs are available for purchase at the Member Services Desk.

Rental Process

Interested in hosting your next event in one of our facilities?

Rental requests must be made a minimum of two weeks (10 business days) prior to the event date

1.  Contact the following Campus Recreation staff with your inquiry.

If you are unable to reach the desired staff member on your first attempt, leave them a message or send an email. Your call will be returned within 2 business days to formalize your reservation request.

2.  Requesting parties will receive email notification that the request has been received. This does not guarantee that the space has been reserved for your rental.

3. Once approved, a tentative hold on the rental space(s) will be made, and rental information packet will be emailed to you. This packet includes your Rental Confirmation Form and/or Facility Lease Agreement and the waivers associated with your reservation. (All minors, 17 years of age or younger, will need a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian)

4.  To confirm your rental and guarantee your hold on the space, you must return your signed rental documents to your Campus Recreation rental contact within one week (5 business days) after receiving your rental packet.

5.  Campus Recreation reserves the right to schedule additional staff, at the lessee’s expense, to assist in managing the event and participants on the date of the reservation.

6.  The renter must communicate the rental agreement and arrangements to their group members, collect and pay group fees, and is responsible for group members’ adherence to Campus Recreation rules and regulations.

7.  All Campus Recreation Center rentals require the group contact to go to the Member Services Desk upon arrival to present a photo ID and confirm group numbers. Any additional individuals over the original group reservation will pay the general admission fee ($10). All other group members should assemble in the lobby.

8.  Payment in full is required 30 business days following the final date of the rental period on all facility and aquatic rentals. Birthday Party payments are due 5 business days prior to the date of the party.

9.  A $25.00 administrative fee is charged for all cancellations.

10. If an event extends beyond the contracted period will be charged overtime. All overtime fees will be charged at 50% above the normal hourly rental rate.

All rental requests are considered on an individual basis and are subject to approval. Exclusive reservations of spaces are scheduled primarily during times of low membership usage or outside normal hours of operation. A confirmed contract along with required insurance and/or waiver of informed consent are required by all groups using the facilities.

Small Group Admission

Non-profit small groups (5 -20 participants) may request general admission into Campus Recreation.

  • Requests should be made 5 business days in advance.
  • Groups will be sharing facility areas with others on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Group size in any one area may be limited.
  • Campus Recreation Center staffing for supervisory needs or requested instruction will be arranged at an additional cost.

Rental Policies

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund of fees paid less a $25 administration fee or 10% of total rental amount, whichever is greater. Payment in full will be charged for all events cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, unless another rental takes its place. Equipment rental fees incurred by Campus Recreation from an outside vendor are not refundable unless cancelled ten business days prior to the event.

CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE

The University of Cincinnati requires that rental groups outside of the university, at their own cost and expense, provide and maintain Comprehensive General Liability Insurance covering Bodily Injury and Property Damage for an amount not less than $1,000,000.00 Combined Single Limits. The University of Cincinnati (2600 W. Clifton Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45221) shall be named as an additional insured. The rental group must provide the Certificate of Insurance no less than 5 business days prior to the rental period.

Severe Weather Policy

Campus Recreation abides by the University of Cincinnati's Severe Weather Policy. During periods of severe inclement weather, public emergency, or other crisis, the president or a designated cabinet officer may announce that some or all of the university's offices and facilities are closed for part or all of a workday. During these periods, all Campus Recreation facilities will close and programs/rentals will be cancelled. Campus Recreation will reschedule or refund all cancelled events.

Food Policy

Classic Fare Catering is Campus Recreation's exclusive caterer. All outside food and drink purchases must come from Classic Fare.
