Kayla started her career as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist by earning her Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Saint Louis University.  She then continued to Loyola University Chicago to complete a Master's in Nutrition and her Dietetic Internship.

Upon finishing schooling in Chicago, Kayla worked as a dietitian in several capacities but most enjoyed her time as the nutrition consultant for a local fitness studio where she also taught a variety of group fitness classes. In addition to meeting with clients and organizing several healthy eating challenges, she trained to achieve two fitness goals of her own, completing 2 half marathons and 1 triathlon.  She is continuing her time as an instructor with Campus Recreation.

Outside of work, you can find Kayla in the kitchen trying new recipes or making traditional favorites - her philosophy on nutrition is that you can fit it all in with balance, a lot of color, and quality, unprocessed ingredients.  She loves showing clients the importance of fueling your body with the right foods and sharing the enjoyment of healthy cooking with others.
