PERSONAL TRAINING

Our qualified, experienced trainers hold nationally recognized certifications through the following organizations: American Council on Exercise (ACE®), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM®), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA®), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA™),as well as others.

CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINERS

All trainers hold at least one nationally recognized certification, and are either working on, or have completed, a degree in a related field.

blake

BLAKE

Blake is a Certified Personal Trainer through ACSM and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health Education with a focus in exercise and fitness. He loves playing sports and grew up competing in several sports including soccer, gymnastics, track, wrestling, and received All State Honors in football. Aside from participating in intramural flag football and soccer, Blake has also been apart of the UC Gymnastics Club. In his spare time, he enjoys intense strength and sprint training as well as pick up games of football and soccer. Blake enjoys helping people realize their goals by giving them that extra motivational push to blow past their expectations. His favorite training methods are creating intense strength and circuit workouts. Blake is available most afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Chris L.

CHRIS L.

Chris is a CPT through the NSCA and he is a 4th year dietetics student currently fulfilling his internship requirement to become a Registered Dietitian. Chris has experience in many aspects of strength, conditioning, and functional training. He is exceptionally knowledgable on the 3 big movements: Squat, Bench and Deadlift. Chris is available in the evenings and weekends.

CHRIS W.

Chris is certified through NETA and is a fourth-year student majoring in Marketing and International Business.  He loves all sports, played varsity football, ran varsity track and was varsity team captain. You might find Chris on the basketball courts, as he enjoys pick-up games most days of the week.  Chris especially enjosy riding BMX and wakeboarding.  Chris finds motivation in creating challenging workouts and completely fatiguing muscles. Chris has a passion to help those who look for intense, varying workoutsl.  He enjoys building relationships with clients and realizing their goals. Availability: mornings, afternoons and evenings. 

Colin

COLIN

Colin is certified through NETA and has earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton in Fitness and Nutrition as well as his Master's degree from Florida State University in Nutrition with an emphasis in Sports Nutrition. Colin has been competing in triathlons since 2005 and has earned All-American honors from USA Triathlon since 2008. He also won the 2013 USA Triathlon Age-Group National Championship. Colin is passionate about living a healthy, active lifestyle and enjoys training a wide range of clients including those new to fitness, those looking to improve performance for a specific sport, and those just wanting a change of pace from their normal workout routine. Colin has very flexible hours and is able to meet with individuals early in the morning, in the evening, and on the weekends as well as during the day. Colin is also a Registered Nutritionist for Campus Recreation and UC Athletics. 

Emma

EMMA

Emma is a Certified Personal Trainer through ACE, and is currently a Masters student in Health Promotion and Education with an emphasis in Exercise Management at the University of Cincinnati. She also works as a Fitness Lead. Emma's favorite training style is circuit or interval training. She enjoys learning new exercises and attending group fitness classes to expand her knowledge in fitness. She loves a good challenge and is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their goals. Emma enjoys working with clients of all fitness levels and ages. She is available at various times during the week. 

Kelley

KELLEY

Kelley is a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through AFAA & ACE, Mad Dogg Spinning Instructor and has completed the TRX Suspension Training Course. She is a recent UC Alum with her Masters in Health Promotion and Education: Exercise and Fitness. Kelley competed at the state level in swimming and has experience teaching swim lessons. She has worked with all ages and abilities levels including high risk individuals, student athletes and weight loss clients. She enjoys attending various group fitness classes and learning new exercises. Her favorite training style is circuit or interval training to keep up the intensity! Kelley’s specialty is helping clients stay committed to their goals by providing clients with the knowledge and skills to maintain their success in the future. Availability: Kelley has very limited availability.

KRISTEN

KRISTEN D.

Kristen is certified through ACE and has earned her Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in Human, Nutrition Foods and Exercise with an emphasis in Dietetics.  Kristen is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian, and also a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher with training certifications from Seattle, WA and Rishikeshi, India.  Kristen came to love fitness having been a competitive cheerleader for 8 years prior to her studies at VT and has translated that motivation to her clients she works with.  Kristen recently worked as the personal nutritionist and trainer for Joe Cross, the star and producer of the hit film, Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and has been a group fitness Instructor in Virginia and Chicago for the past 5 years. Kristen is passionate about helping others achieve their goals by integrating all aspects of a healthy lifestyle.  Kristen enjoys training a wide range of clients but especially loves to work with those that need a hard push and need someone to hold them accountable.  Kristen loves circuits and interval training while complementing with flexibility and core strength.  Availability: Weekday mornings or afternoons.  Kristen is also a Registered Nutritionist for Campus Recreation.

Kristen

KRISTEN S.

Kristen is a certified personal trainer through NETA and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati. She holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati with minors in Information Technology and Political Science. Kristen also has an extensive athletic background and has been a competitive figure skater for 15 years and also enjoys gymnastics, dance, and ice hockey. She is currently a US figure skating and ice hockey instructor and also has been a member of the ice crew for the Cincinnati Cyclones ECHL hockey team for the past two seasons. Kristen also has a passion for music and plays piano and guitar in her free time. As a trainer, Kristen strives to maximize the effectiveness of each training session and help clients exceed their fitness goals through motivation and dedication. She specializes in flexibility, circuit training, sport-specific exercise, and bodyweight training. Availability: mornings and afternoons during the week.

Lindsay

LINDSAY

Lindsay is certified through the Australian Institute of Fitness and is currently a third-year student majoring in Paralegal Studies at UC. Prior to pursuing further study in the United States, Lindsay was a professional rugby player straight out of high school. After three years travelling the globe and playing around the globe, Lindsay decided to take up an opportunity he had to play American Football at the University of Cincinnati. Since finishing up with college sports, he wants to use his knowledge he gathered from playing professional sports and training world class athletes to improve the life’s of others. Outside of sports, Lindsay loves a challenge and will never say no to trying anything new.

MARK

Mark is certified through ACE. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics at UC. He is an avid trail runner and cyclist. Mark is very passionate about balancing good nutrition, cardiovascular activities, and resistance training. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, ride motorcycles, and plays disc golf with friends. Mark likes to challenge his clients with various circuits and new exercises. His main goals are to help his clients meet their goals, gain confidence in the gym, and have a positive view on fitness. Mark is available most mornings and afternoons during the week.

Paige

PAIGE

Paige is a certified trainer through the ACE and has been training for nearly three years in Campus Recreation. She also holds certifications in TRX, Spinning, and YogaFit. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Health Promotion and Education from the University of Cincinnati.
Fit Facts: Paige specializes in stabilaztion, stretching, yoga, fitness fundamentals and exercises for all ages. She has worked with clients both individually and in groups from ages 18 - 96.
Availability: Paige is available mornings, afternoons, evenings and on the weekends as well.

PHILIP

Philip is certified through NASM and is a second-year student majoring in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He is very goal oriented and is willing to set aside non essentials to achieve those goals. He brings that same passion to his clients and will do whatever it takes to help them achieve their goals. He has always been involved in sports since the age of 7 and tried almost every sport there was to try. His main sport was lacrosse and he still enjoys playing lacrosse and is always looking for a way to give back to the sport and grow the game. In his free time he is a music buff and is always searching out the next new thing.

sarah

SARAH

Sarah is certified through the NSCA and received her degree in Dietetics from the University of Cincinnati. While in college, she competed with the Women’s Track Team, winning a Big East Championship in pole vault. Sarah is excited about nutrition and exercise and is ready to help clients set and achieve their goals while adapting to their needs. She is available at various times throughout the week.

SUSIE

Susie is certified through AFAA and is currently a staff member at University of Cincinnati in Student Activities & Leadership Development (SALD). She also holds certifications in TRX and kickboxing. Before coming to UC, Susie worked in Campus Recreation in facility operations and programming. She is excited to get back to her roots and to start to work again with individuals and groups of all fitness levels to reach their resolution goals. Susie loves sports and having lived in states across the Midwest and growing up on the east coast, she is an all-around fan. Availability: Susie available early mornings, evenings, and on the weekends as well.

Terence

TERENCE

Terence is certified through NETA and has been a trainer for 3 years. Currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in health education with a concentration in health and fitness. He attended The Miami Valley Career Technology Center for Sports Medicine while in High School, and worked with many age groups ranging from 6 to 85 years old. In addition to his education, Terence was a District-qualifying wrestler throughout high school, and went on to coach and officiate the sport at the Pee Wee level. He currently is a member of the UC's boxing club. In his spare time, he enjoys intense workouts, being outdoors, and playing Frisbee-golf with friends. Terence's favorite method of traning clients is through kettlebell challenges, while his primary focus as a trainer is to keep clients motivated with a positive attitude and going above and beyond expectations. You may also see Terence on the fitness floor, in his role as a Fitness Lead when he is not training. Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends.
