How Does RideSharing Help Me?
|
Save Money: RideSharing can save hundreds of dollars on gasoline and
parking each year. |
|
Better Time Management: Use the commute time you normally spend behind
the wheel to catch up on reading, work... even sleep. |
|
Less Stress: Hate dealing with aggressive rush hour drivers? You only
have to deal with traffic stress on days you are the driver. |
|
Save Your Car: RideSharing means you'll use your car less often,
extending its life. |
|
Help The Environment: Fewer cars on the road means cleaner air and less
congested highways. |

How Does CaRS Work?
| Your first step to take is to review the CaRS Listings. Each listing displays what another user is offering (a driver, passenger, or shared roles), what area they commute from, where they park at, and what days and hours they normally work. Viewing these listings does not require that you register as a user. |
| CaRS Users can then contact the owner of any listing to further discuss details and eventually arrange a rideshare situation. Users do not get any personal details about any other user (not even an email address!) until is offered by the user. All subsequent details of arranging a RideShare are done independently by the users. |

But I Don't Want My Personal Information Online...
| Don't worry! We will not collect any personal information about you. We do need a valid email address so other users can respond to your listings, as well as your zip code to list your neighborhood, but we do not collect any name or street address information. You may optionally add your street name to help others further narrow their searches, but we discourage anyone from including the actual street number. |

| CaRS is provided solely to assist commuters in identifying potential carpool partners. The University does not assess the suitability of individuals participating in the CaRS program, or ensure that vehicles of participants are roadworthy, or determine if drivers are insured or properly insured. Carpool participants are solely responsible to make these determinations for themselves and the University disclaims any liability in connection therewith. It is likewise your responsibility to notify your insurance provider of your intent to carry passengers and to insure that you have adequate insurance coverage to protect both you and them. You are also encouraged to discuss and/or review the driving records and driving habits of your fellow participants. |
| The College of Medicine Data Support and Development Group has developed CampusRideShare. It is being made available to the University of Cincinnati Community through a cooperative effort of the College of Medicine Data Support and Development Group, UC Information Technologies and Human Resources. |
