DRESS FOR SUCCESS: October 22, 2002

For the 2nd year, CDC received MainStreet funding to implement its “Dress for Success” Fashion Show. The event was held Tuesday, October 22, 2002 from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm in the Event Pavilion on the Main Campus.

Designed to help students make the transition from college to career, the Fashion Show depicts students moving from book-bags to briefcases, from jogging suits to business suits. This year, the event an interactive format and attracted 177 students from across the UC campus – not to mention the 31 UC students who served as models for the event.


GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION &
ETHNIC STUDENT CAREER FAIR: November 6, 2002


CDC’s Grand Opening Celebration was held on November 6, 2002. Prior to their participation in CDC’s Ethnic Student Career Fair, employers had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast and a tour of CDC’s new home in University Pavilion. Gifts and valuable printed information about the new Career Development Center were distributed to participating employers.

The 2002 Ethnic Student Career Fair attracted 50 employers and more than 600 UC students. Event sponsors were Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati; Fifth Third Bank; Kroger-Springdale, Ice Cream & Beverage; Messer Construction; Progressive Insurance; and York International.


CDC MOVE: November 12, 2002
The University Pavilion became CDC’s new home on Tuesday, November 12, 2002.
University Pavilion is comprised of approximately 90,000 square feet and designed to serve as a one-stop center for students. Students will be able to perform almost all university-related business from this convenient one-stop location.

The Career Development Center is just one department that will be housed in University Pavilion. The University President’s Office will be located on the 6th floor of the new building, while other University Pavilion neighbors include:

Floor One: Career Development Center, Educational Services
Floor Two: The One Stop Student Services Center, Office of Disability Services
Floor Three: The University Visitors Center
Floor Four: Administrative Offices: Enrollment Management, Admissions, Financial Aid
Floor Five: Administrative Offices: Registrar, Student Accounts and Collections
Floor Six: Executive Offices: Office of the President, Board of Trustees, Vice President for Finance, Vice President for Governmental Relations and University Communications, Vice President for Information Technology and CIO, Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel, and Vice President for Student Affairs & Services.
