Emailing
a Resume
RICH TEXT FORMAT
- Open your resume in your word processor (i.e., Microsoft Word,
WordPerfect, Lotus).
- Under the main menu bar select File: Save As.
- In the following screen, choose a new file name (i.e., RTF Resume).
- In the lower drop-down menu “Save as Type” choose: Rich Text
Format (*.rtf).
- Attach the RTF Resume to your email message.
TEXT ONLY
- Open your resume in your word processor (i.e. Microsoft Word,
WordPerfect, Lotus).
- Under the main menu bar select File: Save As.
- In the following screen, choose a new file name (i.e. Text Resume).
- In the lower drop-down menu “Save as Type” choose: Text Only
(*.txt). Text Only format does not allow bullets, lines,
bolding, underlining, italics or font variation.
- Cut and paste your text version of your resume into the body of your
email. You may wish to alter the appearance of your resume by
adding spaces to separate information and using all capital letters to
accentuate headings.
