CAREER OBJECTIVE
- A logical, meaningful statement describing in a concise manner
one’s immediate and possible long range career goals.
- Use as specific a title as possible without being too restrictive.

SUMMARY OF SKILL
- List four or five appropriate areas of skill
that demonstrate abilities required for the position desired.
- Use these functional skills (e.g.,
communication, marketing, purchasing, planning, managing, etc.) that
are areas of personal strength as subheadings.
- Under each subheading use short action
phrases to describe and quantify related accomplishments and/or
results.
- List subheadings and accomplishments in
order of importance.
- It is not necessary to identify the
employment or non-employment situation where experience was gained
at this point. It will be listed under Work History.
EDUCATION
- Placement will emphasize or de-emphasize education. Usually
if education was completed less than five years ago, it appears
immediately after Career Objective, otherwise, it appears after
Summary of Skills or Work History.
WORK HISTORY
- Brief chronology of employment history.
- Entries listed in reverse chronological order.
- List position title, place of employment, city and state, year and
month dates of employment.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
- List and indicate positions of leadership and responsibility that
were held. Omit references that may be potentially
controversial.
HONORS
- List academic, leadership, athletic awards, and/or memberships in
honorary organizations.
ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS
REFERENCES
- Available upon request
- May be listed on a second page with name, title, address, and
phone number. Choose individuals who are familiar with our
accomplishments and work experience. Get persons' permission
before you list them as references.
