Description of Major
This major educates students about nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, food science, and food systems management. Dietitians translate the science of nutrition into the skill of providing optimal nutrition to individuals and groups of all ages and states of health.

Graduates are prepared for a wide range of positions in community nutrition, business and industry, food service management, private consultation to individuals and agencies, education and research, as well as the traditional health care settings. A variety of jobs are available for dietetics graduates, including:
