Description of Major
This major educates students about how to develop the special talents of the creative jazz artist as well as the flexible skills required of the successful, well-rounded musician.

Graduates are prepared for a wide range of positions in jazz and contemporary music combos and orchestras, military bands, and as public school teachers, university professors, music theorists, arts administrators, conductors, composers, music publishers, and librarians.
