I don’t exactly understand the dual enrollment concept? Can you please explain?

The dual enrollment is an articulation agreement between Cincinnati State Technical & Community College and the University of Cincinnati (UC). Students will attend Cincinnati State to earn an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and then transition to UC’s Applied Science to fulfill the remaining portion of the curriculum for a Bachelor’s degree. Once enrolled and if you have selected the participation option, you may have the same privileges as a UC student. During the first two years at Cincinnati State, you will pay Cincinnati State tuition. Upon competition of the Associate degree, you will then pay the regular UC tuition.

During my first two years at Cincinnati State can I live on UC’s campus?

Sure, you can also participate in all student life activities, including free admission to UC Sporting events (held on UC Campus), if you have selected the participation option.

I noticed the program is out of Applied Science. Is this college located on the Clifton campus?

Applied Science is located at 2220 Victory Parkway just north of Eden Park. You can visit the college website at: www.uc.edu/cas.

Are classes offered on the UC or Cincinnati State schedule?

During your first two years all of your classes will be held at Cincinnati State. The Cincinnati State course schedule is on a term cycle. To view the cycles visit the web site: http://www.cincinnatistate.edu/CurrentStudent/GeneralInformation

Upon completion of the Associate’s Degree, you will proceed to take classes at UC. It is at this time that you will follow the UC’s schedule. The UC course schedule is based on a quarter system. To view the UC academic calendar, visit the web site:

During my time at UC will the culinary classes also be offered at UC?

Though you will register for classes through UC, the culinary labs will be offered at Cincinnati State’s Midwest Culinary Institute.

I see that both schools offer co-operative education. Will I have to work while I am attending school?

Both schools require co-op experience for full-time students. While at Cincinnati State you will co-op while attending classes. This is a parallel co-op experience. While at UC, you will co-op every other term. This is an alternating co-op experience. Both schools have a dedicated staff to help you find a co-op job that fits your needs and experience.

Will I be able to come and visit both campuses?
