Mission Statement
The mission of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology department is
to provide our students comprehensive academic and cooperative work experiences
that will form the foundation for lifelong achievement.
Program Educational Objectives for Electrical Engineering Technology
As defined by ABET Criterion 1, “program educational objectives are broad statements
that describe career and professional accomplishments that the program is preparing
graduates to achieve during the first few years following graduation.”
The program educational objectives for the Electrical Engineering Technology program
were chosen to ensure that each program graduate will be prepared with the technical
and managerial skills necessary to enter careers in the design, application, installation,
manufacturing, operation and/or maintenance, development and implementation of electrical/electronic(s)
systems.
The program educational objectives for AASEET graduates are to:
- Function successfully in the workplace.
- Apply math and physics principles to technical problems.
- Build and troubleshoot electrical and electronic circuits, identify problem areas,
and maintain these systems.
- Use basic computer engineering software to facilitate problem solving.
- Function effectively in team-oriented activities.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of expected standards of ethical and professional conduct.
- Verbally communicate ideas.
- Pursue life-long learning.
The program educational objectives for BSEET graduates are to:
- Function successfully in the workplace, including managing projects.
- Apply math and physics principles to the solution of engineering technical problems.
- Use applied skills to identify, evaluate, and solve complex technical problems.
- Analyze complex electrical and electronic circuits, identify problem areas, and
maintain these systems.
- Use engineering computer software to facilitate engineering problem solving.
- Function effectively in team-oriented activities.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of expected standards of ethical and professional conduct.
- Verbally communicate ideas.
