Tech Expo - May 07, 2009

On May 07, 2009, seniors at the University of Cincinnati's Applied Science and the Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering departments of College of Engineering (COE) displayed their imaginations and technical know-how to complete their senior projects at the Tech Expo 2009. The results were a surprising mix of creative design,  complex project management, and eye-catching ingenuity.

Our students were all set for the event by 10am at the Duke Energy Center, as the public started to walk-in and were amazed at their innovative solutions and the growing technologies. Several companies were also present at their allotted booths networking with our seniors and providing an opportunity for them to succeed in their future as professionals.

Amazing Student Displays - Senior projects spanning all technology concentrations, Applied Science and CEAS - Engineering seniors were joined by  tri-state Tech Prep students who exhibited their award winning projects in the exhibit hall.

Applied Science has been organising Tech Expo every year focussing on several key factors, with the best Innovative Design being an highlight. Four seniors from the Construction Science Department at Applied Science were able to come up with the most innovative design and were ultimately awarded for their "Best Innovative Concept". Their project "Anchor Bolt Alignment Brace" is pictured to the right.

2nd Annual Energy Conference included several industry leaders organising informative panel discussions and presentations spanning many facets of the power industry.

Feature Story for the Tech Expo 2009
Five seniors from Applied Science's Mechanical Engineering Technology program accepted the challenge and have designed an entry for the 2009 Supermileage® competition set for June 4-5, 2009 at the Eaton Corporation track in Marshall, Michigan.
