This is an unbelievable experience and your chance to truly show your learning and expertise. Congratulations!
THINGS TO DO IMMEDIATELY
- Register your project. One of the first things that you need to do to prepare for the exhibit is to register. We need your personal information and the correct title of your project and any special needs for the exhibit. To register see your department head as soon as possible.
Make sure you see your department head soon. You must submit this information NO LATER THAN APRIL 7th. The formal signs to be used in your booth will be printed from the information submitted. This is a firm deadline and cannot be extended.
SETTING UP
Set up is May 21, 2008. You will be allowed to set up late afternoon and evening of May 21st. You will be notified of the exact times as soon as they are available. You will be entering Duke Energy Center through the docks at the Sixth Street entrance. Tear down for your exhibit will be following the Awards Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. on May 22nd.
Projects will have a 10’ X 10’ Booth unless otherwise requested in your registration. Gold and black drapery will be furnished for all booths along with one 8’ table and two chairs. You will be responsible for your own extension cords. Sam Antoline needs to know if you need electricity, water, and/or any other special needs. (All this information will be taken when you register with your department head.)
DURING TECH EXPO
This is the 22nd College of Applied Science Tech Expo. Congratulations on your achievement! In order to enjoy your day please follow the guidelines listed below during the exhibit hours of 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. A schedule of events is included in your exhibitor material.
- Judges will be visiting your exhibit between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. You need to be present in your booth during these hours. If for some reason you need to leave for a few minutes be sure to leave a sign with the time when you will return. (A UC photographer will also be taking photos of all seniors and their projects, booths without exhibitors do not make good photographs!)
- Exhibitor bags are provided with Tech Expo information, bottled water and granola bars – Thank you CAS Ambassadors!
- Remember to take turns with other exhibitors when leaving your booths. There should be someone to answer questions about your project at all times. When you take a break or go to lunch make sure you have a “neighbor” exhibitor to stay and answer questions visitors may have.
- Box lunches are being provided for you by the college and are located in rooms 202 and 203 of the convention center between 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Take turns with fellow exhibitors when going to lunch. Enjoy your lunch in these rooms — please do not bring your lunch to your exhibitor’s booth.
- The exhibit officially closes at 4:00 p.m. Between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. the college will host the Reception and Awards Ceremony.
