The Open Learning Fire Service Program adds a high degree of flexibility and convenience
to your professional development while maintaining the level of quality and effectiveness
consistent with a traditional approach.
The University of Cincinnati 's Open Learning Fire Service Program is offered in
conjunction with the National Fire Academy 's Degrees at a Distance Program. The
Program is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges & Secondary
Schools. Students may receive credit for EMT and Paramedic Certification plus receive
credit for Working Fire videos.
The advantages to pursuing a post secondary degree are promotional opportunities
within your department, lateral transfer potential, and post career opportunities
with new careers in the fields of fire insurance, arson investigation, fire protection
engineering or industrial safety.
We are the only university in the U.S. and Canada to offer both an associate's degree
(Fire Science Technology) and a bachelor's degree (Fire & Safety Engineering
Technology) in fire science through distance learning.
Join our graduates who have gone on to become fire chiefs and fire officers in their
communities and credit our program with helping them achieve their professional
goals.
