The Department of Humanities, Media and Cultural Studies is dedicated to:

A. Ensuring that students are able to communicate orally, visually, and in writing.

B. Fostering:

• understanding of cultural diversity,
• knowledge of interpersonal relations,
• effective ethical judgments in the workplace,
• appreciation of the interconnections among media, technology, and society,
• intercultural linkages and exchanges,
• critical planning.

C. Helping students to fulfill the General Education Breadth of Knowledge requirements and to develop the four General Education Competencies of Critical Thinking, Effective Communication, Social Responsibility, and Knowledge Integration.
