The Department of Mathematics and Physics prepares undergraduates for careers in engineering technology. In that role, we recognize the need to compute in today's workplace. A graphing calculator is required for all math courses; currently the TI-92 or its equivalent: a handheld computer algebra system whose cost is under $175. For the incoming freshmen class, math courses from Algebra & Trigonometry I upward will be taught using the TI-92. The departmental faculty are concerned that incoming students are placed into the most appropriate level mathematics course.
