At the annual meeting of the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association (ONLA) in Columbus , Ohio on January 24, 2006, three of our Horticulture students were awarded scholarships.

Jenny Louise Brandt Gast received the Southwest Ohio Environmental Horticulture Association (SOEHA) Llyod W. Kennedy Scholarship. This is a rotating scholarship between the Southwestern Ohio colleges ( Clark State Community College , the University of Cincinnati , and Cincinnati State Technical & Community College). Jenny is a freshman in horticulture. Her scholarship is worth $500.00. Congratulations, Jenny!!

The Phil Kozel Memorial Scholarship and the John Patrick Riepenhoff III Memorial Scholarship are presented to upper classmen. Pia Masotta Al-Ubaidi and Eric Robert Sisco received these scholarships.

Pia Masotta Al-Ubaidi is a senior in the horticulture program. Upon completion of her degree she plans on pursuing a doctorate degree in Integrated Pest Management. Her scholarship is worth $1,000.00. Congratulations, Pia!!

Eric Robert Sisco is a junior in the horticulture program. He has worked for London Country Club and Hyde Park Golf & Country Club in golf course maintenance and he hopes to have his own landscape business one day. His scholarship is worth $1,000.00. Congratulations, Eric!!

2005 Scholarship Fund - It's about the Students

The Construction Science Seniors at the University of Cincinnati's Applied Science were challenged to demonstrate their leadership development through-out their college career. Being one of the top Construction Science Department's in the nation, the senior class took the challenge head on. The Senior Class of 2005 decided upon the creation of a scholarship fund. This fund has become known as the 20 05 Fund. We encourage other students & faculty to give to UC.
