2008 CAS Technology Scholars Announced
Press Release identifying the 2008 Technology Scholars CAS Technology Scholars Program The College of Applied Science, CAS, of the University of Cincinnati is pleased to offer the CAS Technology Scholars Program. The program provides both speakers for high school classes and career events as well as scholarships for high school seniors. (Click for Press Release) “Our college has a 175-year tradition of instructional excellence in technology and its application. We are excited to deliver the CAS Technology Scholars Program in direct support of the governor’s STEM initiative for Ohio.” - Richard Newrock, Dean CAS makes ten Technology Scholarship Awards of $1,000 each to the college for high school seniors with the following minimum achievements: 1) Overall Grade Point Average of 3.5 (Out of 4.0) NOTES: CAS Technology Scholars Special Recognition Date: Wednesday Evening February 20, 2008 The College of Applied Science awarded its Technology Scholarships at center court during half-time of the UC - USF basketball game. Award recipients and their parents were guests of the college for the game (each recipient received three tickets plus parking and programs). Photographs were taken during the scholarship presentation. Up to two representatives of the recipient's school also joined the award ceremony as guests of the college. Faculty and Industry representatives are available to discuss career opportunities and technology based jobs as well as the preparation needed to be successful.
