Services Offered Common Misuses Signing In and Out How to Sign In

Services offered at the MRC:

We recommend you visit the MRC at least once before your first test.

Homework Helper

Students who are pretty good with Math but come across an occasionally difficult problem can use the center in this way. Bring in the problems you struggle with or are unsure of or put time aside to do your homework in the center. You can ask a tutor or faculty member to go over the problems you find difficult.

Test Prep

Bring test review sheets, graded homeworks, book exercises, etc. to review with tutors before you take your test.  They can answer questions to help you do well the very first time you take a test.

Test Review/Re-test Preparation

Review difficult material from the previous test with a tutor to prepare for the re-test.  After getting your test back from your instructor bring it in to a tutor and go over the problems you got wrong.  Then ask the tutor to come up with some similar problems so you can continue to practice them.

Practice Tests

The MRC has practice tests for every CAT Math test you take.  Come in and go over it with a tutor. You can come in and work on it and ask a tutor to come over and check on your work every few minutes.  If they see you doing something incorrectly, they will go over it with you.

Appointments

We are primarily a walk-in center; however, appointments are available for students taking 091, 092, and 101.  Appointments are particularly useful for students with tight schedules.  Click here for more information about appointments.

Things to remember:

  • Come early and come often.
  • Tutors are trained by math faculty teaching courses.
  • Visit before and after a test.
  • We are a walk-in center: appointments are available but not necessary. We will always have tutors available for walk-ins.
