Writing Center

      Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, Matt Russo moved to Cincinnati in 2000 and graduated from U.C. in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in English.  As a freshman his writing skills were so exceptional he was asked to apply for a peer tutoring position by the writing center director.  After his graduation his status as a peer tutor changed to academic tutor.  Since then he has been working hard to help students in both the Writing Center as well as in the classrooms at U.C.  This is now his seventh year as a tutor.  Outside of U.C., Matt is a dedicated dj/turntablist, in a group called the Animal Crackers.  The Animal Crackers are two time winners of Cincinnati’s City Beat Entertainment Awards. They have also become Cincinnati Enquirer Cammy nominees, as well as 2003 runners up in the DMC Team National Dj Battle Competition.  The Crackers have released 3 records and several CDs.  You can visit them at www.theanimalcrackers.com
