Join us in a school based mentoring program or as a community based mentor.We are seeking mentors for Corryville Catholic Elem and other new school partnerships near campus. Time requirements is an hour or two, 2-4 times a month. Take your little swimming to the park, to sporting events or plays. Go to the park, a movie.or cook a meal together. Caracole provides housing and support services to individuals/families living with HIV/AIDS. Our clients and previously homeless and dealing with mental health issues and substance abuse recovery. Headcount is a non-partisan voter registration organization devoted to using the multi-faceted power of music to enable participation in democracy. We assist poor and under served families and individuals mostly in the central city. The focus of the agency is on emergency assistance and self sufficiency programs. We distribute food, clothing and personal care items as well as a free lunch everyday. We operate one of the few family shelters in the city and offer long-term counseling in our Family Development Program. St. John also has programs which work with risk teens and offer a free Bridges Program which teaches computer skills. We are looking for students who can help us provide child care while parents are attending sessions on Family Development. The children cared for are of varying ages up to 3 years. Three students are needed per evening. Dinner will be provided to students.

The Youth Mentoring Program serves 'at-risk' students from Norwood Elementary Schools. The basic goal is that the volunteer mentor meets with a student once a week at the students school during lunch and get to know that student. The opportunity is ideal for someone who is free between 11am-1pm on one particular day each week. Volunteers meet for 20-40 minutes and listen to any academic/social problems the student might have as well as enjoy a lunch together. The volunteer will need to bring their own lunch as well as for the student. i.e burgers, fries.
