What IS Relay For Life? Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraiser. It offers everyone in the community a chance to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of 8 to 15 people will camp out on McMicken Commons and takes turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times to represent that we will not sleep in our fight against cancer. The event is 18 hours long and will feature live music, free food, tons of games, prizes, friends and fellowship.

Luminarias can also be purchases in memory of those who have passed away from cancer or in honor of those who have survived cancer. Each bag will list the name of the individual on the outside and have a candle inside of it. They are $10 each and that amount can go towards an individual’s fundraising amount. We will have a special ceremony that evening when it gets dark and read off each individual’s name. It is a very touching ceremony and special moment at Relay.

Cancer survivors are invited to walk the Survivor's Lap. The strength and courage of those who have battled cancer are a personal testimony of the progress we are making in our fight. A special reception will be held at 6:30pm following the lap.
