Green-Up Day 2015

The date for Green-Up Day 2015 will be announced soon. In year's past, Green-Up Day has focused solely on Burnet Woods. While Burnet Woods is a beautiful place that needs community support to reach its full potential; for the first time in 2014 the Center for Community Engagement and the Cincinnati Parks shared the Green-Up Day love with other parks surrounding the University of Cincinnati's Uptown Campus.

The goal of Green-Up Day is to beautify and maintain our precious public green-spaces so the entire community can fully enjoy them in their seasons of highest use. Public parks are a simple but profoundly important component of a community's quality of life, they are a place where people from all backgrounds come together to connect with nature, recreate, and build stronger communities.

The Parks

Each of the other parks are also within walking distance of campus, so check them out!

What to expect:

  • Please bring a pair of work gloves to the event if you can. All other tools will be provided.
  • Event is rain or shine, so wear clothes that can get dirty and sturdy shoes appropriate for working in brush and mud.
  • Volunteer opportunities will consist of mulching the park, honeysuckle/invasive species removal, grounds beautification, and any other special projects in need of attention.

Signing Up:

  • If you would like to join in the Green-Up day fun this year, registration information will be released as soon as possible.
  • Each park is a separate project, so if you want to volunteer with a friends make sure you all sign-up to serve at the same park.
