The Cancer Family Care Center is located in Mt. Auburn, Cincinnati and provides counseling and understanding to cancer patients and their families to help them cope with the devastating emotional impact of disease and loss. The CFC requested assistance from the DAAP Community Design Center and SAID students to help create conceptual plans for the layout and to design of a "Retreat" pavillion behind thier existing building on Auburn Ave. The Retreat would house counseling and wellness uses. During a two day charrette February 11-13, students produced five design proposals for the project. CFC will use the student work to raise funding for professional design services and implementation.
