Imagination Alley is a small pocket park in the 1300 block of Vine Street
that is maintained by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission. The Art Academy
of Cincinnati working with the Peaslee Neighborhood Center and community
residents have designed and installed artwork in the park over the past
several years. This group requested assistance from Community Design Center
to help create a design layout and spatial concept of the park. By conversing
with local community groups and the Drop Inn Center, Washington Park Elementary
School, Peaslee Neighborhood Center, and Over-the-Rhine Contact Center,
ideas were generated for the various features within the park. During
a weekend charrette and brainstorming session January 28-30, 2005 stakeholders
and design students and professionals worked to create a park concept
plan. This Plan was presented to the Over the Rhine Community Council
and will continue to be developed by the AAC.
